The Appraisal Institute provide education for appraisers and publishes "The Appraisal of Real Estate". This book is the steadfast primary resource for the profession. The Phoenix Chapter of the Appraisal Institute services our area.

Arizona appraisers are governed by the Arizona Board of Appraisal . I have personally served as a Mentor for the Board. Appraisers that receive disiplinary action from the board are often required to be re-trained by a Mentor. This helps to promote safety to the public that orders appraisals. The Appraisal Subcommittee provides the National Registry of Appraisers. "USPAP" or the "Uniform Standards of Professional Practice" is Authorized by Congress as the source of Appraisal Standards and appraiser qualifications. In many cases we are also required to adhere to either Fannie Mae Guidelines (Select "selling and servicing guides", then "access the selling and servicing guides via ALLRegs" or FHA/HUD Guidelines.
